Father's group for kids

Region: Jena

The "Väteraufbruch für Kinder" is a self-help initiative for fathers who live separated from their children against their will, who feel alone and powerless in this situation and suffer from it, whose self-image is shaken and who are afraid for the development of their children.

It wants to point out to fathers and mothers how important it is for the well-being of the children to have contact with both parents that is as free of conflict as possible.

The "Väteraufbruch für Kinder" is also in part a political initiative with the goal, as a nationwide association, of raising the social profile of the importance of fatherhood and paternity and working toward appropriate changes in the law.

Group meetings

Every first Tuesday of the month 8:00 p.m.

This event is aimed at all parents who need to reorganize contact with their children after a separation. In practice, unexpected questions and difficulties often arise. The "Väteraufbruch für Kinder" has been active in Jena since 1995. The information and contact point for self-help groups offers a favorable framework for this. In many areas, fathers can act as equal parents today. Conflicts in concrete situations are nevertheless not always avoidable. The Väteraufbruch offers or mediates support here. In addition to fathers and mothers, other interested parties are cordially invited to the meetings.

Contact can also be made through IKOS.
