Transsexuality

Region: Jena und überregional

Transsexuality refers to people who do not feel they belong to the physical gender in which they were born. They often seek physical adjustments to realize their perceived gender identity. But not every transsexual actually wants to have surgery on their sexual organs. Many transsexuals could live permanently in the gender corresponding to their identity even without surgery or other medical treatment. Only about 10 % of the transsexuals actually want a far-reaching adaptation, which includes a treatment with opposite-sex hormones, as well as a so-called sex reassignment surgery on the genitals.

Transsexuals want to be socially recognized as members of the “other" sex and consequently strive for an alignment of body (external perception) and
Self-perception at.

Transsexuality knows no boundaries and can be found in all social classes.

Goals and tasks

We are a self-help group in Jena, where people who are "different" find admission and advice and are not left alone with their problems. Likewise, we stand by relatives who are confronted with the issue of  transsexuality, helping. Whether it is mutual help or exchange of experiences in the group, advice on problems or simply inquiries - we are there and help!

Transsexuals do not have to feel alone!
