Counseling for people with cannabis use as medicine - Cannabis Patientenhilfe Mittelthüringen.

In 2017, the German government decided to make cannabis as medicine more accessible by amending the German Narcotics Act. On March 17, 2017, the amendment came into force and cannabis was transferred from Schedule 1 to Schedule 3 of the BtMG. The background is that the federal government wanted to make the medical benefits of cannabinoids accessible to the population. Cannabis and medicines based on it thus became prescribable for a wide range of diseases and can thus represent a real treatment alternative for many people.

Prior to the change in the law, over 1,000 patients had a permit to use cannabis flowers from a pharmacy. Permit holders had to prove that cannabis was the only thing that really helped them. We would like to let other local sufferers benefit from the knowledge of these “experts in their own field”. The “Cannabis-Patientenhilfe Mittelthüringen” works closely together with the “Arbeitsgemeinschaft Cannabis als Medizin e. V. (ACM e. V.)”. This is a non-profit association that has been promoting the medical use of cannabis on a scientific basis since 1997.

The “Cannabis-Patientenhilfe Mittelthüringen” focuses exclusively on the medical use of cannabis, is non-partisan and does not deal with political issues beyond the medical use of cannabis and cannabinoids.
It stands for scientific exchange, information transfer and concrete help for affected people and their families.

Goals of the Cannabis Patient Support Central Thuringia:

  • To organize regular meetings that ensure an exchange of experience on the subject of cannabis as medicine between patients
  • To inform about possibilities of therapy (tablets, spray, inhalation), possible side effects, risks etc.
  • Inform about practical aspects of a treatment with cannabis based medicines (e. g. dosage, way of application)
  • To assist with any legal issues that may arise (e. g. applications, travel, driving license)

No legal advice is given!

The Arbeitsgemeinschaft Cannabis als Medizin e. V. (ACM) is a non-profit association in which patients, doctors, pharmacists, lawyers and other interested parties from Germany and Switzerland are organized. It advocates the medical use of cannabis and cannabinoids. Members of the ACM are automatically also members of the IACM, an international scientific society.
